The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged between December 15, 2025, and January 14, 2026.
According to the authority, the pump prices in Nairobi will stay at Ksh184.52 for Super Petrol, Ksh171.47 for Diesel, and Ksh154.78 for Kerosene. This marks the third consecutive month without any adjustments in retail fuel costs.
EPRA stated that the prices are calculated in accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No.192 of 2022.
“EPRA monitors fuel prices regularly to ensure stability for consumers while reflecting global market trends and local distribution costs,” the authority noted in a public notice.
The regulator’s decision to keep prices unchanged is expected to provide some relief to motorists and businesses as Kenya heads into the festive season.
Stable fuel prices can help reduce the cost of transport, goods, and services, which are often affected by frequent price changes in petroleum products.
Industry analysts said that while global oil prices have shown fluctuations, EPRA’s decision reflects efforts to shield consumers from immediate increases.
The regulator takes into account factors such as international crude oil prices, exchange rates, and local supply costs before finalising retail prices.
Motorists welcomed the announcement, saying that steady fuel prices allow families and businesses to plan expenses better during the holiday period.
Some transport operators also highlighted that predictable fuel costs help in budgeting for public transport fares and delivery charges.
Consumers are reminded that fuel prices vary slightly across regions due to transport and distribution costs. EPRA encourages Kenyans to check the latest rates before filling up at petrol stations.
The authority has also urged motorists and businesses to continue using fuel responsibly and efficiently, citing environmental benefits and savings on costs.
With this announcement, fuel prices are expected to remain stable across the country until the next review cycle in mid-January 2026.
EPRA continues to monitor both local and international market developments and will make adjustments as necessary to ensure fair pricing for all Kenyans.
