REVEALED: Secret Instructions Cyrus Jirongo Gave Lawyer Omari in Nairobi Before His Death

Fresh details have emerged regarding the final legal instructions issued by the late former Cabinet Secretary and Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo shortly before his death.

Senior advocate Danstan Omari has confirmed that Jirongo met him at Fairview Hotel in Nairobi only days before the fatal road accident that claimed his life.

During the meeting Jirongo issued urgent legal instructions that were scheduled to be filed in court the following week.

According to Omari, the meeting took place on a Thursday, and the legal team immediately began preparing the necessary court documents.

Omari later travelled to Mombasa to work on the papers but was shocked to receive news of Jirongo’s death before the filing could be completed.

Omari described Jirongo as more than a client, noting that their relationship spanned more than two decades and involved representation across multiple courts, including the Supreme Court.

He highlighted Jirongo’s strong convictions, resilience and unwavering belief in justice even during prolonged legal battles.

Veteran lawyer Cliff Ombeta also reflected on Jirongo’s character, describing him as a principled, generous and fearless public figure who could not be intimidated or swayed by pressure.

Ombeta emphasised that while speculation continues surrounding Jirongo’s death, investigations should be left to the relevant authorities.

Both lawyers appealed for restraint, urging the public and political actors to respect the family’s space during mourning.

They emphasised that Jirongo’s death should not be exploited for political gain or online speculation.
