“God’s Anger Is on This Country, Not Because of Me But Because of the Way His True Messengers Are Rejected Here,” Mzungu Pastor Predicts Dark Days In Kenya After Wrongfully Being Imprisoned In Kodiaga

Irish pastor Rory Bracken has spoken about the hard time he went through after being wrongfully jailed in Kenya.

In 2019, Rory was arrested in Kodiaga for not meeting visa rules.

He spent 23 days in prison while struggling to pay a bond that was first set at KSh 500,000 before being lowered to KSh 50,000.

Pastor Rory says he did not have the money to pay the bond and was forced to stay in jail until his family helped him raise the amount.

After his release, he took the government to court and won a case proving his visit to Kenya was legal.

The court ruled that he was wrongly charged and awarded him KSh 400,000 for malicious prosecution, plus legal fees bringing the total to KSh 560,000.

However, Pastor Rory says he has not yet received the compensation. Speaking from his home country, he said he is not bitter but disappointed.

“I was imprisoned for preaching the gospel, and the court agreed the government acted wrongly. Still, they have not paid me the money ordered,” he said.

He also explained that the compensation is not enough. During the six months his passport was held while his case went on, he stayed in hotels and paid for food out of his own pocket.

These costs were much higher than the money he was awarded.

Another painful part of his story is that no Kenyan pastors supported him during his struggle.

“No one stood with me—not even the pastor who invited me to Kisumu. Only my wife stayed by my side,” he shared.

Pastor Rory also talked about his bad experience with some lawyers who took his money but never helped him. He warned that Kenya might face trouble because of how it treated him.

“God’s anger is on this country, not because of me but because of the way His true messengers are rejected here,” he said.

He prayed for Kenya to stop corruption, tribalism, and false churches.
