REVEALED: Check On Why Kenyan Serving in The U.S. Army Has Been Sentenced To 26 Years In Prison

The man, aged 53, pleaded guilty to the crime on December 12, 2025, according to court records in the U.S.

The incident happened on February 21, 2025, at the couple’s home in Killeen, Texas. Reports show that the man and his wife, who was also a serving member of the U.S. military, were involved in a serious argument. What started as a domestic disagreement later turned deadly.

During the confrontation, the soldier shot his wife several times inside their house. After the shooting, he locked her in the main bedroom and left the home. The woman later died from the gunshot wounds before help could arrive.

While driving away from the house, the suspect called his brother and informed him that he had shot his wife.

The brother immediately alerted the authorities. Police officers rushed to the home and found the woman’s body in the bedroom.

Local law enforcement officers informed investigators from the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.

A detailed investigation was launched, and officers recovered blood samples, DNA, and other forensic evidence from the scene. The evidence placed the suspect at the centre of the crime and supported the case against him in court.

After the sentencing, one of the investigators praised the cooperation between Texas law enforcement agencies and military investigators.

He said the ruling showed that justice would be served regardless of a person’s position or profession. He added that while the sentence could not undo the pain caused, it sent a strong message that violent crimes would not be tolerated.

The convicted man worked as a military aircraft structural repairer in the U.S. Army. He is expected to serve his 26-year prison term at the United States Disciplinary Barracks in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Although such cases involving Kenyans in the U.S. are rare, there have been similar incidents in the past. In one case reported in 2023, a Kenyan man was accused of killing his girlfriend before fleeing to Nairobi.

He was later arrested, briefly escaped custody, and was rearrested before being extradited to the U.S. to face murder charges.
