Babu Owino Breaks Silence On Hospital Rumours, Sends This Message To Kenyans

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has addressed widespread concern over his health, confirming that he is recovering well following days of speculation online.

In a statement shared on X on Saturday, December 13, 2025, Owino thanked Kenyans for their support and care.

“Fellow Kenyans, I sincerely appreciate your concern and care. I am recovering well,” he wrote. The message quickly received hundreds of reactions from supporters, colleagues, and citizens expressing relief and well wishes for his full recovery.

The MP’s statement comes after persistent rumours suggested that he had been hospitalised in Nairobi under unclear circumstances.

The lack of official communication led to a flurry of speculation on social media, prompting calls for verified information regarding his condition.

To further calm public anxiety, politician Alinur Mohamed confirmed that he had spoken directly with Owino’s family. In a post on X, Alinur encouraged Kenyans to ignore unverified claims.

“I have spoken directly with the family of Hon. Babu Owino and can confirm he is well and stable. I will visit him soon and share verified updates. Please ignore rumours. Let us focus on prayers and goodwill. We wish him strength and a full recovery,” Alinur wrote.

Owino’s health update comes shortly after a period of intense political activity. Less than a week earlier, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, he conducted a series of rallies across the Nyanza region, visiting Nyando, Muhoroni, and Rarieda constituencies.

During the Nyando rally, his first stop, Owino encouraged residents to transform frustration into collective action, stressing resilience and community responsibility.

In Muhoroni, he spoke to crowds in Awasi, urging citizens to rise not out of anger, but out of hope and a demand for dignity.

“There comes a moment in the life of every nation when the people rise, not out of anger, but out of hope. Not because they seek conflict, but because they demand dignity. Today, we stand in such a moment,” Owino told his supporters.

The final stop of the tour was Rarieda Constituency, where he highlighted the importance of persistence and hope. He reassured attendees that challenges should not discourage civic engagement and that meaningful change cannot be silenced.
