Cyrus Jirongo’s Death Seems Suspicious; No Witnesses, No Evidence Only Driver’s Account– Lawyer Kibe

The death of former Lugari MP and businessman Cyrus Jirongo has sparked serious questions across the country, with lawyers, friends, and members of the public expressing doubt over the claim that he died in a simple road accident.

While authorities have described the incident as a head-on collision with a bus, emerging details have left many unconvinced.

According to initial reports,Jirongo died after his car collided with a bus in the early hours of the morning. However, beyond the driver’s account, little clear evidence has been presented to explain exactly what happened. This lack of detail has fueled suspicion, especially given Jirongo’s profile and history.

Speaking on the matter, lawyer Kibe questioned the credibility of the accident narrative when viewed from all angles. From a legal perspective, he noted that fatal road accidents in Kenya usually involve multiple witnesses.

In this case, despite the bus reportedly carrying many passengers, none have publicly recorded statements. The only detailed version of events so far comes from the bus driver, who reportedly appeared unusually calm while narrating the incident.

Friends of the late politician say this calmness is troubling. They argue that someone involved in such a serious accident would normally be shaken. 

The absence of visible panic or shock has raised eyebrows, adding to doubts about whether the full truth has been told.

More questions arise from Jirongo’s movements on the night of his death. Close associates state that he was in Nairobi until late Friday night and had no plans to travel.

One friend said Jirongo had mentioned he was heading home and even called his caretaker to say he would arrive shortly. This contradicts reports suggesting he was driving toward Naivasha or Nakuru at the time of the crash.

Another issue causing concern is the nature of the injuries and damage. According to people who viewed the scene, Jirongo’s body did not show the level of trauma expected from a high-impact head-on collision involving a large bus.

At the same time, images of the bus circulating online do not clearly show extensive damage. To experienced legal observers, this raises red flags.

Lawyer Kibe pointed out that in past accident cases, the force of impact is usually obvious on both vehicles. In this case, he argues, the physical evidence does not strongly support the version of events being presented. 

While he emphasized that investigations are still ongoing, he stated that, based on available facts, the incident does not fully resemble a normal road accident.

The setting of the crash also adds to the mystery. Accidents in Kenya, even those occurring late at night, often attract crowds quickly. Neighbors, passengers, and passersby usually gather at the scene. Yet reports suggest there was little activity or public presence, which many find unusual given Jirongo’s prominence.

Adding to the doubts are claims by friends that Jirongo had previously expressed concerns about his personal safety. 

While no direct evidence has been provided to link these fears to his death, the statements have deepened public suspicion and calls for a thorough investigation.
