Hawk-eyed investigators who have swung into action to try establish the facts surrounding the passing of former Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo have banned viewing of the body.
The detectives have also given strict orders to the management of Lee Funeral Home not to embalm the late former MP's body until they complete investigations.
"We have been informed by investigators that nobody can view or embalm it until investigations are complete," said former Vihiga senator George Khaniri who is co-chairing the funeral committee.
"Detectives are conducting a forensic investigation," he added.
The forensic investigation is expected to end later today after which a post mortem will be conducted in presence of the deceased's family members.
More investigations were called into Jirongo's passing after family members and friends questioned how the former MP ended up dieing in Naivasha a few hours after leaving Oasis Joint in Karen, Nairobi.
When he left Karen, Jirongo confirmed to friends that he was heading to his Gigiri home in Nairobi only to be involved in a road accident in Naivasha.
"This is not adding up. How did he leave Karen heading to Gigiri only to die in a road accident in Naivasha," questioned Khaniri.
As investigations continue, it has been decided that the late will be buried at his Lumakanda, Lugari home. However, the body will also tour his two other homes in Gigiri and Kitale.
