Panic on Kisii-bound Bus as Two Passengers Try to Take Control, Driver Speeds to Police Station

Panic gripped passengers on a Nairobi–Kisii bound bus after an unexpected drama unfolded in Sotik, Bomet County.

The calm journey turned chaotic when two male passengers suddenly became rowdy and demanded to take control of the bus.

Witnesses said the men appeared agitated and insisted they were capable of driving, causing fear and confusion among the other travelers.

According to passengers, the two individuals stood up mid-journey and confronted the driver, forcing him to slow down as they shouted and attempted to access the driver’s cabin.

They demanded to take the wheel, insisting they should drive the bus themselves.

Shocked travelers watched as the men confronted the driver, creating fear and confusion inside the vehicle.

The driver, determined to protect lives, refused to hand over control. Tension rose as the men pressed harder, but other passengers quickly intervened.

Working together, they subdued the pair, restraining them to prevent further chaos. The driver then made the decision to head straight to Sotik Police Station, where officers took charge of the situation.

Police confirmed that the two suspects were detained for questioning and will face charges once investigations are complete.

Authorities praised the courage of the passengers who acted swiftly to stop the attempted takeover.

They also commended the driver for his quick thinking, which ensured no one was injured.

Travelers described the ordeal as frightening, saying the bus could have crashed had the men succeeded.

Authorities are urging passengers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior during travel.
