What Really Happened in Room 604? Mystery Deepens After Presenter Festus Amimo’s Sudden Death

The sudden death of Mayieng FM presenter Festus Amimo has shocked colleagues, listeners, and family members, leaving unanswered questions as investigations continue.

According to a preliminary report from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the incident unfolded at After 40 Hotel, where Amimo had booked Room 604. 

The hotel’s security office received a distress call from Colleta Ann Ngesa, a colleague of the presenter, who reported that Amimo had collapsed and urgently needed assistance.

Hotel security officers immediately rushed to the room, where they found Amimo unresponsive. Efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was later confirmed dead.


News of the incident spread rapidly online, triggering widespread speculation among social media users, especially after it emerged that Amimo and Colleta had checked into the hotel together.

The DCI has urged the public to avoid speculation, stressing that investigations are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

Detectives are expected to analyze CCTV footage, record statements from individuals involved, and rely on medical examinations to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, the Mayieng FM fraternity is mourning the loss of a colleague described as lively, dedicated, and passionate about his work.

Friends and coworkers said Amimo was widely admired for his warm personality and professionalism.

His family has appealed for patience as they await official findings, noting that the rumours circulating online are only deepening their pain during this difficult time.
