Former Governor Mike Sonko has publicly mourned the passing of former Lugari MP and Cabinet Minister Cyrus Jirongo, describing him as a friend beyond their political differences.
Sonko’s heartfelt tribute was shared on social media on Saturday, December 13, and has since attracted attention from both politicians and the public.

“Though we differed politically, the late Cyrus Jirongo remained my friend. We shared a long journey together, and our political battles were never permanent,” he wrote.

Cyrus Jirongo, 64, tragically died in the early hours of Saturday after his vehicle collided head-on with a 45-seater passenger bus along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway in the Karai area of Naivasha.
