Kaluma Reacts as Aisha Jumwa Says Coast Will Exit if Joho is Not Given the Party

Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma says Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Ali Joho is a strong ODM member.

In a post on X, Kaluma affirmed the Coast, Nyanza, and North Eastern regions are ODM bastions.

He argued Joho could make a great ODM leader in future, but should wait until Dr. Oburu Oginga steps down and Joho isn't a Cabinet Secretary.

Kaluma said ODM is strong under Dr. Oburu's leadership.

Kaluma's statement followed Aisha Jumwa's threat to leave ODM if Joho isn't given the party leadership.

Jumwa said Joho spent years in ODM and they'll exit if their demands aren't met. She said, "Baba made us, it's our time to make ourselves."

The exchange highlights internal ODM tensions, with leaders jockeying for position. Joho's ambitions may reshape the party's dynamics.

The situation is fluid, with potential shifts in alliances and leadership following the death of the late former Prime Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga.
