"You Can Kill Those You Want, But Those Who Remain Will Send You Home" Methu Tells Ruto

Police attempted to stop a political convoy heading to Kirinyaga County on Friday, triggering tense moments in Sagana.

The motorcade was carrying former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and several allied leaders to a planned public rally in Kagio.

According to Nyandarua Senator John Methu, police officers confronted the convoy and released teargas, forcing a brief standoff on the highway.

Images later shared online showed damaged vehicles and teargas canisters scattered along the road.

The incident caused confusion among supporters who had lined up along the route.

Traffic was briefly disrupted as security officers moved to control the situation. Despite the chaos, the convoy regrouped and continued with its journey.

Senator Methu described the incident as deliberate intimidation aimed at blocking political activities linked to Gachagua.

He maintained that the use of force was unnecessary and only served to raise concerns about the shrinking space for political engagement.

He also claimed the convoy was specifically targeted and not involved in any violent or unlawful activity. Supporters remained calm, and no serious injuries were reported during the confrontation.
