A publication by the People Daily weekend magazine on Saturday 12, April 2025 has disclosed to the public an alleged plan by the Kenya Kwanza regime, to rattle or rather counter former Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Fred Matiangi's bid for the country's top political seat once he officially declares his quest.
Fred Matiang’i who is reportedly out of the country and whose idea to vie for Presidency was first floated by Jubilee Party Secretary-General (SG) Hon Jeremiah Kioni could encounter stumbling political and legal hurdles in the upcoming days should the plan by the administration sail through.
According to the publication, influential figures (names undisclosed) within the Kenya Kwanza administration, have already "lined up more than ten (10) criminal and misdemeanor charges they plan" to bring against Fred Matiang'i and that they strongly believe the accusations will derail his candidacy.
The source further highlighted that the government plans to reveal Dr Fred Matiangi's criminal and misdemeanor charges to the public immediately and when he officially announces his Presidential bid with efforts already underway to pursue legal avenues aimed at blocking his mission.
Before the current Kenya Kwanza Alliance clinched power, Dr Fred Matiang'i served as a key figure in the former Jubilee administration that was being spearheaded by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and while overseeing the Interior ministry docket, some Kenya Kwanza officials believe he misused his powers to mistreat some Jubilee opponents
